Age of students: 3-11

Percentage eligible for free school meals: 30%

About us

Wood Memorial is a primary school in Saltney, Flintshire. We cater for pupils aged 3-11 and currently have 164 pupils.

Our motto is 'from little acorns mighty oaks grow'. We are a nurturing, inclusive and caring school and pupil wellbeing is central to all we do.

What do we want?

We are running a Construction Club for pupils and part of the club is teaching children about coding and how to use coding creatively. We would like to engage the pupils by introducing Sphero but we need help to fund the purchase of this fantastic equipment! We would love to raise enough for a class pack (12 Spheros) that the whole school could benefit from.

Who is this for?

The Construction Club will be for KS2 initially but FP will have the opportunity to use the Sphero equipment during the school day should we raise enough for the class pack. We would also like to extend the club once per term to include parents and share how to code!

Why do we want it?

Sphero is designed to inspire creativity, curiosity and invention by connecting play and coding.

1 Sphero class pack with charge box @ £1,499 + VAT

Total = £1,798 (incl VAT & delivery)

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy the Sphero App for iPads.
