UPDATE! Thanks to all of your support, we have already reached our target and will be able to get 5 chromebooks!
We are now adding a stretch target to afford 3 more chromebooks, so let's keep sharing! Thanks!
Number of students that will benefit: 208
Age of students: 4-11
Percentage eligible for free school meals: 11%
We are St Andrew's C of E Primary School in Furnace Green, Crawley.
What do we want?
We would love to purchase 10 Chromebooks for our children. But to start with, we will try and buy 5.
Who is this for?
The Chromebooks would benefit the whole school, we would like to use them in lots of subjects.
Why do we want it?
We currently only have 11 working laptops to use for the WHOLE school. This isn't even enough for 1 laptop between 2 children in most classes. The laptops we do have are getting old and are very slow to load pages. Computing is such a big part of the curriculum, but at the moment we are struggling to teach this on the equipment we have.
The Chromebooks will help us because they are rapid to load, in good condition and we will have more of them! We will use them for maths and literacy games to support our learning, coding, programming, science and doing research. We will also use the Chromebooks to access the programs we already use in class, like Scratch.
WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
Our dream would be to get 30 Chromebooks which would be enough for 1 for each child in a class.
But in the mean time we are aiming to purchase 5 Chromebooks and then add to the number as we can.
5 x Chromebooks @ £249 each = £1,245
Total = £1,245 (incl VAT & delivery)
Now that we've been fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would like to buy 3 more Chromebooks please, so our new total is £1,992!
Thanks everyone for your generosity so far.
