Our school

Spurcroft Primary School is a large primary school in Thatcham, West Berkshire. Our students range from Nursery to Year 6.

We pride ourselves on giving the children an enriching curriculum and feel that virtual reality would greatly enhance their learning experience. Children would be given the opportunity to delve into the human body, visit historical sites they may never have the opportunity to visit in real life and swim with marine life.

School funding is challenging and the only opportunity to bring this exciting resource is through crowdfunding.

What do we want?

We want the ClassVR package as it is a whole new concept in education technology: a cost-effective Virtual and Augmented Reality system designed exclusively for the classroom. This exciting and engaging technology allows students to experience and travel to far-flung locations around the world.

Who is this for?

We are planning to use it with all children across our whole school.

Why do we want it?

We want ClassVR because it brings VR and AR in the classroom, which improve children's outcomes through increased engagement and better knowledge retention through personal experience.

The ClassVR package includes: a set of ‘standalone’, fully-integrated headsets in a ruggedised portable storage and charging case; a custom student-friendly user interface and gesture-based controls; a range of curriculum-aligned educational VR & AR resources; and a web-based portal that empowers teachers to control and manage devices with ease.

The ClassVR team of educational and technical specialists will be on hand to support us as we implement ClassVR, offering everything from teaching ideas and hands-on training to full installation and technical troubleshooting.

1 x ClassVR Classroom Set of 4 headsets @ £1,528

Total = £1,528

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy resources for Early Years Foundation Stage, including:

1 x Light box A2 size @ £147.95 https://www.tts-group.co.uk/colour-changing-light-panel/1015501.html?cgid=Early_Years%3AICT%3ALight_Boxes_%26_Accessories

This is also what we will buy if we only reach our minimum target.
