About us

The children at South Norwood Primary School have asked to do more coding. The children are very inquisitive and have high aspirations for themselves and their friends. They loved finding out by doing and really really want some equipment to learn to code.

What do we want?

We want some up to date blue bots - one costs £69.95 but a class bundle at £409.70 would be amazing!

Year 5 and 6 would love 3 x sets of Lego WeDo please!

Who is this for?

This would be for ALL the children at our school - including the children in our Enhanced Learning Provision.

Why do we want it?

Blue-Bots are programmable robots that help pupils code, debug and simulate algorithms for the new National Curriculum for Computing. With their iPads, pupils also have the option to plan an algorithm on the device and send it remotely to the Blue-Bot which will then follow the steps right in front of them.

The Blue-bots are especially useful for the younger pupils to start learning coding but pupils all through the school can benefit from using algorithms with Blue-bots.

The Starter pack of 6 Blue-Bots comes with a docking station to charge the Bots. If we were fortunate enough to be overfunded, we would love to get even more Blue-bots - but 6 really would be fantastic.

Also, we need to challenge and move our older children's learning on with a more complex programming resource such as Lego WeDo. Lego WeDo will be fun, engaging and challenging for all children in Upper Key Stage 2.

Total = £799.95

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy 2 more sets of Lego WeDo for a total of £259.90.
