About us

Somerleyton is a small rural school in our 175th year with 56 pupils. Our strength is our tremendous sense of team spirit, where each individual is valued for the part they play in making Somerleyton a welcoming, safe environment. Celebrating and valuing each other enables our pupils to learn to be independent and develop their abilities to the full.

What do we want?

A set of 4 VR headsets for the children to use to support learning across all areas of the curriculum bringing to life 3D models, immersive videos and 360 images.

Who is this for?

This is for our whole school, to use across a range of subjects.

Why do we want it?

Virtual reality will allow our students to visualise and explore across a range of subjects gaining new insight into our fascinating world. It will allow them to interact with subject matter in a entirely new way. They will experience places and travel through time, examine objects from history and the natural world.

Hands-on involvement, showing, not just telling; experiments and field trips the ability to journey to where ever you are learning- helping us to prepare our children for a world that is changing technologically every day.

Class VR set of 4 complete with charging box  Total = £1,249 + 3% payment processing fee

Grand Total = £1,287

If we are fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would like to buy a second set of 4 VRs to enable a larger group of children to work together.
