Quwwatul Islam Girls are going Virtual

Number of students that will benefit: 250

Age of students: 4-16

About us

Quwwat-ul-Islam Girls’ School was established in August 2003. Initially, the school enrolled just 50 pupils but over time, by the Grace of Allah, the school expanded and has gone from strength to strength. In September 2005, the school was extended to cater for secondary pupils too.

We now cater for pupils from Reception to the end of Year 11, teaching the National Curriculum subjects as well as providing a solid Islamic education within a nurturing Islamic environment. Your daughter will, In sha Allah, leave Quwwat-ul-Islam Girls’ School with the knowledge, maturity and confidence to face a bright and successful future.

What do we want?

We want learning to go virtual.

We would like to have a full class set of iPads, in their own storage and charging trolley, so that our children have the opportunity to use and apply technology to any lesson in the curriculum. These iPads will aid all our students learning in every subject possible.

IPads are versatile laptops which are very relevant to the children's future. We need to be able to teach the children how to use Google Apps and Google Drive so that they can use these skills in the future workplace. With the support from Google Apps, we can allow children to create their documents in the classroom and, because the iPads are portable, the children can be in any location in the school. They will have the ability to type up and save their written work, and also use the internet for lessons and to see videos which are relevant to the curriculum, further enhancing their learning.

Who is this for?

This is for the whole school community - students, parents, staff and visitors.

Why do we want it?

Virtual reality will allow our students to visualise their History and Geography lessons, for example,  more clearly and allow them to interact with subject matter in a totally new way. It will enable them to experience places they have never been, which will only enhance their learning through digital media. Let learning come to life!

15 x iPads @ £114.00 each

Total = £1,710 (incl VAT & delivery)

However a full class set of iPads would be 30 iPads, so we're hoping to overfund because our total for the full class set is £3,420.

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy safe and secure portable storage units.
