OUR PROJECT
About us
We are a 1 and 1/2 form entry, village Primary School in rural Kent.
What do we want?
We want to purchase 10 brand new tablets to help support our children's learning. These will help support us integrating technology into the classroom and help us to teach appropriate usage of technology.
Who is this for?
All 280 children will have access to these tablets, from EYFS to KS2.
Why do we want it?
In order to advance our curriculum, we need to increase our use of technology in school. To be able to do this we need to purchase new equipment.
Using tablets in the classroom has great potential for improving our children's learning across the curriculum. We will use apps, such as Seesaw which helps to embed digital literacy skill and can be used in all curriculum subjects, especially mathematics. Using dictionary apps and asking Alexa for help with spellings will support our phonics and spelling teaching to aid our children's writing.
The children enjoy using the tablets and so they become more engaged in the activities when they know that they will be involved. We have seen an improvement in the children's motivation to succeed when they hear that they are going to be uploading their work to their online learning journals at the end of the lesson.
