About us

Joseph Cash Primary School is a two form entry primary school located in Coventry, West Midlands. We have approx. 460 children on roll ranging from 2 - 11 years old. The school works hard to be at the heart of its local community, providing opportunity to all.

What do we want?

We would like to buy 4 iPads specifically for our Early Years children. The iPads will be used by the 2, 3 and 4 year olds in the Nursery as well as Reception class children.

The iPads will be used to teach literacy and phonics, whilst helping the children develop their ICT skills. The school budget is limited and we have recently invested in providing laptops for all our Year 6 children. We would like to purchase iPads to enable the development of key IT skills in our youngest pupils in order for them to thrive in the digital world.

Who is this for?

The Early Years and Reception class children aged 2 - 5 years old.

Why do we want it?

The iPads are small and allow the children to 'move about' the room with technology at their fingertips rather than sit at a desk with a laptop. The children don't always know how to handle a mouse and a keyboard, and at this stage, it is a bit strange to them.

The iPads would really allow the children to show us what they can do and learn: phonics games, artwork, picture taking, online maths and using apps intended for learning in schools.

iPads in the classroom would really enhance the youngest children in our community develop their ICT skills. This would give them a flying start in their journey to be fully 'digitally literate' and prepared for the world in which they live.

If we raise the minimum amount then we purchase one iPad, which means a small group of children can really benefit having access to learning through this type of technology.

If we get the full amount we will use the donation to purchase 4 iPads. Just think how this could support our children!

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy additional iPads to support even more children.
