About us

My name is Mr Smith and I work as a Computing Teacher at St Ninian's High School in Glasgow. I have a background in Games Design before becoming a teacher and I use game design as much as possible in the classroom. My pupils love game design topics such as coding, creating characters and designing storylines.

What do we want?

We would love 21 licences for Game Maker Studio 2 which will allow us to start a dedicated Game Maker club for pupils who absolutely love making games and are even thinking of pursuing a career in Games Design. Game Maker Studio 2 allows pupils to begin creating games with little to no coding experience. It is perfect for pupils who are intimidated by coding or find it really difficult to understand.

Who is this for?

This will primarily be for use during the Game Maker club; however our school also offers courses in NPA Games Development at Level 4, 5 and 6, which means Game Maker Studio 2 could also be used to teach these courses.

Why do we want it?

Having this club on offer for pupils in school will provide them with an opportunity to develop skills such as programming, creativity, literacy, numeracy and problem-solving. They will be able to do this while also enjoying working together in teams, developing communication skills and ultimately learning to create games just like those they enjoy playing so much at home and on their mobile devices.

21 x Developer Desktop Permanent Licences @ $99 (approx £75)

Total = £1,575 (incl VAT & delivery)

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy additional licences for a second classroom.
