About us

We are a two-form entry school and we are based in the centre of a community within Blyth. We work closely with other schools within Blyth to provide all children of Blyth the best possible education.

What do we want?

We want to offer our children the opportunity to learn through Virtual Reality. It is an immersive visual resource that extends children's life experiences, inspires creative writing, and produces outstanding engagement in children of all abilities. It can be used as a whole class activity or with smaller groups for intervention work and is a fun and inclusive way to engage children in the curriculum.

Each child is given a Virtual Reality Headset (Advantis Class VR). Immersed in sound and 360 degree video, they are transported to the past, they discover new places from around the world and they can revisit places they have been with the use of a 360 camera. The possibilities are truly endless. Who is this for?  This is for the whole school and to share with other schools in the local area. It can also provide opportunities for parents, carers and visitors a chance to understand current topics in more depth and be part of many learning experiences.

Why do we want it?

Virtual reality will provide our children with experiences that they may never get the chance to experience and allow them to interact with topics in a totally new way. It will enable them to explore places they have never been, which will only engage our children further, but will also support them when writing and sharing their ideas of the past and the world around them.

We would like:

8 VR Headsets (

Subtotal = £2,249 (Inc. VAT & delivery)

+3% payment processing fees (charged by the payment provider)

Grand total = £2,317

If we are fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would like to continue to invest in the VR headsets to continue to provide these experiences for our children in the future.
