Bathgate Academy is a non-denominational comprehensive secondary school with an ever growing Craft, Design and Technology department. As a department we currently offer six subjects in senior phase.
What do we want?
We would like to purchase a Gerbil Trimming and Finishing machine.
Who is this for?
This is for the CDT department, however, can be accessed by everyone.
Why do we want it?
This will allow pupils to independently cut, shape and finish their models, giving more scope for creativity and learning new skills. We currently undertake projects in S1-S3 which require a rebate and this machine will allow the pupils to create this themselves rather than having it done by the technician or teacher. This machine will also give senior pupils more freedom when designing and modelling, as well as simulating a more realistic representation of designing and manufacturing in real life.
WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
GERBIL 2020 -
- Adjustable 0° to 10° metal tilting table (Note: this replaces the 2010 MDF table top)

Two of these machine as this will allow us to accommodate more pupils over the 3 workshops.
