About us

The School Council at Sutton Bonington Primary is made up of children from every year group. We represent the pupil views from across our single form entry, rural school. We don't want our rural school to get left behind in the digital revolution. When we were asked what we most wanted for our school, all children on the Council said "iPads". We really want to learn how to use ICT creatively, and explore its huge potential, and find different ways of using technology in lots of school subjects.

What do we want?

We want to buy 5 iPads and cases.

Who is this for?

The iPads will be available for booking for every class in the school. The school is going to train all the teachers so they know how they can use the iPads in lots of subjects, and how this can work with small group work. Everyone will benefit. We also plan a lunch club with peer-to-peer learning, with children from different classes demonstrating the educational apps and tools they have learnt to use. We also want to try out coding and programming.

Why do we want it?

Our school motto is "together we're learning for life", and we want ICT to be something that all the children can access, and build on the excellent peer-to-peer relationships we already encourage across the school. We will open the eyes of our pupils to the huge spectrum of possibilities that ICT can bring, and teach them to use it creatively. They will learn that ICT has potential far broader than a game to play, or pictures to look at in their downtime.

5 x iPads @ £225 each

5 x iPad cases @ £35 each

(Prices as part of the iPads for Schools scheme)

Total = £1,300

Now that we've been fortunate enough to reach our target, we would like to keep fundraising for an additional 3 iPads and cases, and also offer staff development to learn how to embed the use of iPads across the curriculum.

3 x iPads @ £225 each = £675

3 x cases @ £35 each = £105

Staff development @ £500

New total = £2,580!

The school is aiming to get 16 iPads in total, so this would really help speed it up.

Thanks for all your support!!!
