The Road to Code with mini Robots

Update: Thanks to your support we've already reached our target!

We have therefore added a Stretch target to £699 to buy a Sphero Ollie - see details below.

Key Stats

Number of students that will benefit: 362

Age of students: 4-11

% eligible for free school meals: 2.1%

Our school

We are a growing 2-form entry school in Surrey.

What do we want?

We want to develop our children's coding ability by purchasing some Sphero Mini Robots to add to our computing equipment. The Sphero Mini Robots are designed for young learners as an engaging and fun way to learn code in a collaborative school environment.

Why do we want it?

We are committed to providing the most engaging computing curriculum. The use of Sphero robots supported by structured learning makes the "Road to Code" a fun and rewarding journey.

The world needs young aspiring computer programmers with problem solving and creative skills to build and instruct the technologies that will define our future. Having Sphero in our classrooms will help us teach students relevant skills easily and reliably. The Sphero Edu app empowers anyone to program their Mini. Our youngest children can code by drawing paths while older children can use Scratch blocks, or write their own JavaScript text programs to program their Sphero Mini.

10 x Sphero Mini @ £49.99 each

Total = £499.99

Stretch Target

Now that we've been lucky enough to raise more than our initial target, we would love to purchase a Sphero Ollie: we would like it for its outdoors capability as that gives the children a chance to use a typically 'indoor' skill in a new and exiting way.

1 x Sphero Ollie @ £199.99
