We are Metheringham Primary School in Lincoln. We are very lucky to have a computer suite, but it has been a long time since any of our computers have been updated. We are very excited to learn using different apps, software and websites but we are finding more and more often that our computers just cannot run these. We are having trouble preparing for the new online times tables tests and the online safety site that our teacher found for free just would not work at all. We are getting left behind and we really don't like it. When we get to secondary school we would like to be ready to learn about computer science ready for the future but it is really hard with older equipment.
What do we want?
In an ideal world we would be able to replace all of our older machines in our computer suite, but we are hoping to start with two.
Who is this for?
There are around 240 pupils in our school, aged 4 - 11, all of us get to use the IT suite at different times. We might do any lesson in there, maths, English, research for other subjects, coding, online safety, even art!
Why do we want it?
Our PC's are too old, we need to begin replacing them but we need help. We will be able to learn so much more efficiently with machines that can keep up. Waiting for 5 minutes just for the machine to load successfully before we even begin is losing us a lot of learning time.
WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
2 x HP Pavilion 590-p0038na PC @ £529 each = £1058
Sub total = £1,058 (Inc VAT* & delivery)
+3% payment processing fees (charged by the payment provider)
Grand total = £1,090
If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target we will be able to update more machines! Our keyboards and monitors are working ok so we will use all the money to update the actual desktops.
