Our Digital destroyers:
Gargunnock Primary School has a roll of 60 pupils divided into 3 classes. We have a rural location in the village of Gargunnock, at the foot of the Gargunnock Hills. We are a part of the Stirling High Learning Community.
In our school we have a Skills Academy and one of these groups is the Digital Destroyers. The Digital Destroyers have been auditing our digital technology and have concluded that we need significant investment if we are to provide adequate opportunities to develop our pupils' digital skills.
What do we want?
We would like to purchase iPads. We currently only have 2 for the whole school to use.
Who is this for?
The iPads are for our whole school to use right across the curriculum. An iPad provides excellent opportunities to record, evidence and document learning and gives pupils ownership of this.
The iPads will also be used by our Digital Destroyers to lead lunch time digital clubs such as Coding and Tellagami. We are also keen to use the iPads for transition projects - pupils coming into P1 and those leaving P7.
In addition, we are hoping to build on existing partnerships with the older generation in our village and have plans to set up a skills exchange programme, 'Gargunnock's Generation Gain'. Sharing digital skills would be an integral part of this programme.
Why do we want it?
Having sufficient quantity and quality of technology in school is essential to provide equity of opportunity for our pupils. Using iPads in learning increases engagement and participation whilst equipping our young people with vital digital skills for the future.
WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
- 4 x Apple iPad Wifi 32GB Space Grey (MR7F2B/A) @ £236.59
- 4 x Griffin Survivor All-Terrain- Protective case for tablet- rugged- silicone, polycarbonate, PET- black, smoke- for Apple 9.7- inch iPad (GB43543) @ £30.02

Purchasing 4 iPads, along with the 2 that we have, would give a set of 6. It would mean that each class could have full use of 2 iPads without having to share with each other.
Ideally, we would love to have a set of 12 iPads so that they can be more easily used in lessons across the curriculum. 12 iPads would mean 1 between 2 children in a class lesson.
We currently have 2 iPads in school. We would love to be able to buy 10 more.
