Deer Park would love to purchase some new equipment for our budding scientists.

Number of students that will benefit: 110 today & 420 when the school reaches capacity

Age of students: 4-11

Percentage eligible for free school meals: 1.3%

Deer Park School is a new primary free school in Richmond Upon Thames for children aged 4 to 11. The school opened with one class in September 2015 and continues to grow, with 110 pupils registered in September 2018.

The school aims to ensure that every pupil achieves confidence, success and resilience through high-quality educational experiences; an enriching curriculum; and a safe, stimulating environment for learning and play. The success of this strategy was recently recognised by Ofsted, who graded the school as 'Outstanding' in all areas of its assessment.

What do we want?

Rechargeable stop watches and a bumper electronics set.

Who is this for?

This is for the whole school to enjoy.

Why do we want it?

Our pupils LOVE science and we want to foster that enthusiasm by ensuring we have the tools and equipment available to allow them to experiment and investigate.

The stopwatches will allow the kids to get scientifically creative. Designing and investigating all sorts of things from how long it takes a tin to roll down different surfaces to how quickly their hearts beat after exercise.

The electronics set with wires, torches, bulbs, batteries and switches will allow the pupils to safely investigate electricity, finding out how electrons move around a circuit to power different types of components.

Total = £209.90

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy an additional electronics set or some of the accessories to go with it such as more components.
