About us

Cornton Nursery is situated within the heart of Cornton community, Stirling. We offer flexible early learning and childcare for 66 children during sessions, aged from six weeks to school age. In order to further support our families during school holiday periods, provision is offered to children up to 12 years old.

Our values-led curriculum is designed using the principles of the Curriculum for Excellence and Pre Birth - 3. It is underpinned by our strong nurture and community ethos, is responsive to children’s individual learning needs and offers appropriate challenge and progression. Through indoor/outdoor play, children are encouraged to reach their full potential and to build ambition for themselves.

What do we want?

We aim to provide the children with a range of programmable toys (Blue bots, Ozobots and Dash) to develop computing science and enhance computational thinking.

Who is this for?

All children would benefit from these resources. However, we recognise that there will be greatest benefits to the children aged 3-5 years old.

Why do we want it?

At present, the children have limited access to programmable toys, with only one battery powered Beebot. We recognise the benefits children can gain from working together using robots, understanding and developing instructions and sequences.

    2 x Ozobot @ £95.44

    2 x Bluebot @ £139.90

    1 x Tactile @ £79.95

    1 x Dash @ £171.11

    Total = £486.40 (incl VAT & delivery)

    If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy additional accessories to use with our new robots.
